\"iStock_000014758288XSmall\"<\/u>I am one of the few dually licensed clinical psychologists and licensed school psychologists in the state of Illinois.\u00a0 I specialize in helping families with students who experience struggle in their educational setting.\u00a0 Many families seek to understand the difference between how the medical field views a given disability and the schools\u2019 \u201ceducational relevance\u201d concept of a disability.\u00a0 I provide objective (i.e., third party) clinical assessment of a student\u2019s needs.\u00a0 Testing conducted by non-school professionals often does not yield results that are meaningful in devising a school related plan of intervention.\u00a0 I also provide review of educational assessment and Individualized Education Plans (IEP), consultation and collaboration with school staff, and advocacy services.\u00a0 I am available for in-office consultation and can accompany you to school meetings as well.\u00a0 As a parent myself, I understand wanting to be sure your child has been correctly identified and is receiving all services he or she is entitled to.\u00a0 Many times, parents just aren\u2019t sure what their rights are, don\u2019t know the right words to use, or don\u2019t understand what services are appropriate for the school to provide.\u00a0 I can help.<\/p>\n
